The brings relief with SODIS, solar water disinfection, a stunning water treatment method for poor people in third world countries: Contaminated water is filled into transparent plastic bottles and exposed to the full sunlight for 6 hours. This exposure has the same effect as boiling the water. During the exposure, the sun destroys the pathogens. In very hot regions where the water temperature rises above 50 degrees C, the disinfection process only requires one hour solar exposure.

SODIS is a low cost method, affordable also for the poorest. All the Foundation’s money is used for information purposes: To introduce the SODIS method to one person costs the Foundation
2 USD – by far the cheapest method world wide to give people access to clean drinking water. “Besides is clean drinking water that can be prepared with the SODIS method at home also a tremendous relief for the families and especially women”, says Michel Comte. “An African woman walks up to 5000 km in an year to get clean water.”

The is under the supervision of the Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs. All contributions to the Foundation are legally tax free. Contributions are welcome. Michel Comte also encourages charity events in favour his foundation.
