The has been established in 2004 in Zurich, Switzerland in accordance with Art. 80ff of the Swiss Civil Code. The purpose of the Foundation is to advocate and to provide every manner of support for ideas, activities and endeavours which are aware of and protective of the value of all elementary substances such as water, soil, air and other natural resources which are of existential importance to the sustainable maintenance of the planet Earth.

The assets dedicated to the Foundation consisted of a contract in favour of the Foundation whereby 1% of all proceeds received from the sale of Michel Comte products shall go to the Foundation. The sum of CHF 250'000.00 had already been granted for the establishment of the Foundation by board members.

Michel Comte himself acts as President of the acting Vice President is Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Larese from the University of Zurich. Delegate of the Board is Mrs. Suzanne Speich, also acting as Managing Director of the Michel Comte Estate. Further Board Members are: Dr. h.c. Michael Kohn, Scientist; Dr. Sven Strunk, CEO of Mibelle; and Lucas Albers, Agent of Michel Comte.

Since established in 2004 the in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Institute for Environmental Science and Technology  has given 82’000 people, mostly young children, in five countries (Bolivia, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Ecuador) access to clean water. The lack of adequate water supply leads to water-borne diseases like diarrhoea and every day more than 6’000 cases end in death.
